Kristen Whitson, Digital Specialist and Consortia Manager, supports Recollection Wisconsin content partners and a wide range of digital cultural heritage initiatives. Her work centers on practical digitization, peer-to-peer learning, and helping organizations of all sizes share their collections sustainably. Kristen is deeply committed to making history and library spaces more welcoming and representative, with particular interests in LGBTQ+ history and community-driven projects. She contributes to the Culture Keepers Collective and brings an equity-minded, people-first approach to digital archives work. Away from the computer screen, Kristen and her family enjoy food from start to finish: gardening, chicken- and bee-keeping, harvesting, preparing, preserving, cooking, baking, and of course: eating!
