Our Board is one of the most important ways we grow and improve our services to our member community so thank you to each member representative who took the time this spring to vote!
We are honored to welcome these two new faces to our Board on July 1st:
Jennifer Gurske
Program & Technology Manager
Madison Trust for
Historic Preservation
Paula Norman
Library Media – Instructional Technology Coordinator
Tomahawk School District
And we are excited to share that Heather Winter, who has generously served on our Board for many years, has been re-elected to her seat representing special libraries:
Heather L. Winter
Librarian/Archivist
Milwaukee Art Museum–Research Center
Both the Council of UW Libraries (CUWL) and the Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (WAICU) have also appointed new members – Todd Roll of UW-Platteville and Ellen Sayed of the Medical College of Wisconsin, respectively.
We are very grateful for the service of our outgoing Board members: Kristin Vogel, Kris McCoy, Paul Waelchli, and Nathan Dowd. We deeply appreciate their years of thoughtful work.
If you are thinking about nominating yourself or a colleague to a seat on our board, here is what our outgoing members have to say about the experience:
It has been an honor, privilege, and even more – a delight – to serve on the WiLS board as a member-at-large these past six years. Congratulations to the staff on all the great work you do! I look forward to seeing what comes next, cheering you on even though I am not on the board!
Kristin Vogel, Director of the Library and Associate Professor, St. Norbert College
Being on the WiLS board was a great opportunity to connect with library people around the state as we worked together to support all types of libraries and patrons while always pushing for growth in the field. I learned so much about the amazing things libraries are doing and am thankful to have been a small part of how WiLS supports and fosters innovative practices.
