Thank you for joining us at WiLSWorld Shorts on Friday, March 13th to learn about web accessibility with Ashley Dzick, Adjunct Professor, Humanities, Social Science, and Communications Department, Milwaukee School of Engineering. You can watch a recording of the webinar or view the slides – and let us know at information@wils.org if you have any questions!
Libraries are designed to build up communities. In 2020 that community isn’t just in person; library tools and resources are increasingly online. Your online presence needs to be able to serve your entire audience — especially those who physically or mentally can’t access your physical space. Inclusive design accounts for your entire audience, no matter who or where they are. We’ll walk through a brief introduction to accessibility, why accessibility matters, and the changes required to be WCAG accessibility compliant. Participants will leave with a list of tools and resources they can immediately start to leverage, including a screen reader, magnifier, and other assistive devices that have a significant impact on how users interact with websites.
