WSDLC: Wisconsin Schools Digital Library Consortium
The Wisconsin Schools Digital Library Consortium (WSDLC) provides access to a robust collection of ebooks, digital audiobooks, and magazines to Wisconsin K12 students. Since the WSDLC’s inception, membership has grown to include nearly 300 public and private schools and districts, serving over 440,000 students. WiLS, along with the Wisconsin Department of Instruction and the CESA Statewide Network, provide the infrastructure that supports the consortium.
WiLS provides the following services to WSDLC:
- Fiscal agency
- Governance support
- Meeting management
- Resources and advocacy around collection support and intellectual freedom
- Shared collection planning
- Project management
- Training
- Marketing and communications
- Building relationships and acting as a liaison with peer organizations and vendors
Recent or Current Projects
- Worked with OverDrive to ensure appropriate student grade level access to materials
- Prevention of “summer reading slide” via the annual Reach More Readers campaign
- Review of and incorporation of Annual Membership Survey Results in collection and training enhancements
- Review and revision of the WSDLC Collection Development Policy and Reconsideration of Materials process
- Partnering with OverDrive to make member purchasing more easy and straightforward
- Member of the OverDrive Advisory Partner group; providing feedback on enhancements for Sora and Marketplace.
