PowerNotes was designed to unify the steps of reading, gathering, saving, annotating, organizing, outlining, tracking, and citing research into a single, efficient workflow that feeds directly into the writing process. PowerNotes improves source-based writing by:

- providing students and researchers with a continuous research workflow that feeds directly into the writing process, and

- giving writing instructors visibility into their students’ research process so that they can provide interim feedback on structure, source use, and writing skills like paraphrasing.
